Text Detection

Question

I was trying to detect text in a bitmap image. I tried to change the contrast of the bitmap image and tried doing text detection.... results were good but not up to the mark.... Can you help ???

This problem sounds to be related to optical character recognition except even more difficult if you're trying to detect text on an arbitrary bitmap. I know very little about OCR but I do know that there are a couple of libraries which can be used from C# namely Microsoft's 'MODI' and the open source 'Tessnet2'.
