Hi I am new to dotnet and I want to know what and all technologies I need to learn in dotnet to become a successful developer. What certifications I must do?

Hi dear If you are new to dotnet then first learn the basics you can go for www.w3school.com  their you can learn asp .net and C# tutorials . In this site also for students we have a link in footer name -- Student.Their you can find lot of materials to start your journey towards .Net. Apart from this as a starter make habit to read book some says that now books are not so important for developer but I refuse this statement. Through book you can start the topics and can read the full contents. Install Visual Studio in your computer and make a habit of writing small small programs as you learn the topics. In the technologies you can go for Entity framework LINQ Web Services MVC . Hope this helps you. Thanks

Hi First thing let me congratulate you that you choose .NET development as your career opt we welcome to our community. Now to your question you want to become a successful developer. The culprits here are primarily .NET and Java though the increasingly complex nature of Web development in general isn't guiltless either. The languages themselves are getting more complex over time. And yes it is possible to say well no one is forcing your entry-level developers to know all of the dark corners of C# to be a success. And what happens when the senior architect sets up the whole thing so that LINQ is the primary driver of the architecture? Look I think LINQ is awesome but the fact is I had to read a fairly long in-depth book to learn it. And that applies to XAML/WPF/WinForms/WCF Entity Framework (or NHibernate) SQL ASP.NET MVC and a whole host of other items that are the bedrock of a modern .NET application. There is a pile of knowledge you need to know and know how to use that knowledge in a project just to be considered a competent .NET developer. Meanwhile people are graduating from college with 36 credit hours of total computer science (and increasingly information systems or similar degrees). That is barely enough to teach them the basic fundamental principles of programming let alone the tools and information they need to survive in the .NET environment.

When it comes to .NET you have to decide whether you are interested in Web Mobile or Desktop development. Depending upon your interest you can further target .NET Framework SDKs. With Web development itself one can code with WebForms or MVC. At first I suggest having a basic understanding about OOPS .NET Framework etc. Once you are fine with that continue exploring and learn .NET by coding samples. You can also learn from existing applications too. Remember there is no alternate shortcuts for learning. It's never ending. Keep coding and enjoy :)
