Transfer data to Crystal Report

We have two way to move data from C# to crystal report that depends on our requirements. The first one is to show a text on report that passed from a variable in C#. Other scenario arises we need to pass some value to report that will further process to fetch data from database. Let us take a crystal report SalaryDetailReport in project. Create object of this report SalaryDetailReport objSalaryDetailReport =new SalaryDetailReport (); To show a text on crystal report from C# we need to add a TextObject[id="txtObjReportHeader"] on report. Now we need to set text to this txtObjReportHeader. For it we need to access this object using cystal report object //Here Section5 is section of report where txtObjReportHeader laying. objSalaryDetailReport.Section5.ReportObjects["txtObjReportHeader"].Name="Manufacturing Department Salary Detail"; Now we move to send data from C# to report that will be used to process data from Datbase Let us assueme our report is configured with Department table so according to selection of department salary of employees to be shown. //Here ddlDepartment is dropdownlist that is used to select dapartment & Department.ID is field of Department table. string departmentID=ddlDepartment.SelectedValue; string filterCriteria="{Department.ID}='" + departmentID; //crystalReportViewer1 is used to display report on front end objSalaryDetailReport.RecordSelectionFormula = filterCriteria; crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = objSalaryDetailReport; It will resolve ur issue.
