turning off my pc after a specific time

i want to create a program that will allow me to turn my computer off when the clock reaches a specific time or after a specific duration. would this be an actual program or a windows service?also  where would i find a command on how to turn off a computer?

And if you are running windows 2000 this will work if you have the resource kit installed it has the shutdown.exe tool.

You can do this as a service or program using a timer and checking for certain times or whatever then use Process.Start(@shutdown-f -s) that forces closed any open applications and shuts down the local system ( at least in windows xp)
