can an email be used as a Primary key or it can be used as a unique key...?

Well an email address could be used as either a primary key or a unique key since the former must be unique as well. However as Prasham said it might not be a good choice for either because an email address could be shared by several people. Whether this matters or not depends on the nature of the application.

Hi I think email is not a good option for either Primary key or unique key. I remember in one of our project there is concept of Shared Account. There are multiple users using this account and having same email id.
