Use of html controls while web controls are present ??

Question

hi.
i m new to asp.net. while i know how to program in c#.

my question: what is the use of html controls while web controls are present in asp.net , and in which conditions we use mix of both. and how to validate web controls via javascript on client side????

Hi The Html Controls are Browser Controls (Client-side ) Such as Labels buttons textboxes etc. The Asp.Net Controls are Server Controls (Server-side). You can use Html controlsif your page doesn't change content dynamically. Other-wise go with Asp.Net Controls. So the Html Controls are good for Static Page and Web Controls are good for Dynamic Page. ASP.NET controls are executed on the server with the resultant HTML sent to the client. ASP.NET controls also work with JavaScript when applicable (such as for client-side validation) to improve performance. A big benefit to ASP.NET is that emits standards-based content to a varied array of browsers so there's no deployment required for end users.

There are many use of html controls. One of them I can reveal. We can create pure html pages inside an ASP.NET application. In this case we need to have the HTML controls. Processing of the page could be a post to another ASPX page in another server. Eg: serverA.html processed by serverB.asp.net
