use of linq in asp.net projects?

Question

hi everyone
i just wanted to know actually where linq is used in the projects . is it used only in 2-tier architectures or can we use it in 3-tier projects and n-tier projects ?
can anyone post me the examples of 3-tier and n-tier projects using linq......

That's right. Linq to SQL. Really Linq to SQL works reasonably well but Microsoft seems to have moved on. I wouldn't make something new with it especially something that you want to maintain for several more years.

Before anybody who's spent weeks trying to learn LINQ gets the wind up I'm sure Andrew is only talking here about LINQ to SQL. Other technologies such as LINQ to objects LINQ to XML and Parellel LINQ are still alive and well :)

If you're making something new I don't think you should use Linq. Microsoft is no longer developing Linq. The Linq team has been disbanded. Microsoft is pushing Entity Framework now. If you have a choice I recommend you learn and use this newer Microsoft technology.
