User defined type Collection need to add in ServiceKnownType

Question

Suppose I have used one user defined type Collection in one of my service method in WCF.

Is requires to add in ServiceKnownType.?????

 

Ex: [ServiceKnownType(typeof(List<UserDefinedType>))]
