Using Javascript how to set enable true or false for Requiredfieldvalidator

How to set enable true or false using javascript Requiredfieldvalidator. i want to validator set to true only when a particular button is click and set to false when another click. And using ValidatorEnable from javascirpt client code this function is working in one application and giving problem in another. plz. do help me. Thanks in advance. Uday
