Using JQuery in ASP.NET's master page

Question

Hi all
i have an asp.net page content that used a master page. i placed a JQuery code in this page content, but it not work. but this JQuery code correctly work in other pages that not used a mater page file.
the Jquery file reference is true. i placed it in both the master page and the page that used it, but it not execute.
why it not work with master page?!?!?!?!
please hep me

Are you using ID selectors? Use class selector or others if possible. When you use master page your control's ID get changed. Ex. A control without Master page having ID -> ddlDropDownlistID Its ID will get changed when you use Master Page and may be like - ctl00_ddlDropDownlistID So instead of using $(#ddlDropDownlistID) use=> $(#ctl00_ddlDropDownlistID ) or $([id$=ddlDropDownlistID])

hi Mr Kumar. very thanks for your answer. i find this answer in the StackOverflow.com site yesterday. but i have one Question and it is: why the asp.net must changes the elements name in content page?
