Validations in BLL and DAL?

Question

Hi I typically dont validate parameter values that were passed to the DAL methods from BLL methods becuase i validate passing parameters of DAL in the BLL. Therefore as for error handling in DAL i only write code to handle exception within DAL. Is this a good practise? TY in Advance

well my friend there is never enough security in validation but in general DAL and BLL should be Strongly Typed in order to save Data Access Time for Faulty requests. but if you are sure that the BLL is doing the neccessery validations its perfectly good enough dont forget that validations cost in performance and validation on validation is preety much pointless since you will validate probebly on the same way :-)
