Value in a alertbox

I have some value in controller i need to display that value in alert box.could you please tell me how to do that

Here is my code in View at the bottom: ----------------------------------------- script > alert( ' @ TempData[ myValue ].ToString() ' ); script > ----------------------------------------- And Controller ----------------------------------------- TempData[ myValue ] = 354354; ----------------------------------------- and it works !

If you give us only controller how can we debug & check? as the issue is happening at runtime. You cant just leave it.

i tried that one also.value is coming into viewbag. if i display that in view it is displaying starting only so it is displaying null

Hey First put a break to the beging of that pariculat action method keep track wether that viewbag contains value or not then try.... i view page $( document).load(function() { alert('@ViewBag.VName'); });

Sasi Its not better approach to have all the values in ViewBag use your own model/viewmodel instead of ViewBag.

Hi The one of the easiest way to achieve this is to return value from controller using ViewData. For example: if ( SaveToDbOK ) { ViewData [ Success ] = Data was saved successfully. ; // Do other things or return view } In your view you can write in script block. var successmsg= ' '; alert(successmsg); Another way to achieve the same is directly response the script from your controller. public ActionResult UploadPropertyImage() { // Business logic.... return Content( alert('Save Successfully'); ); } Hope this will help you out. @Sunny ViewBag works But If redirection occurs then the ViewData/ViewBag's value becomes null. Thats where TempData used.

Sasi Show me your View and controller. @ Jaganathan Bantheswaran : ViewBag will also work TempData is a kind of temporary container which is emptied after the value is read.

Hi Sasi Keeping it simple add the value to ViewBag use it in View like: Controller ----------------- .... ViewBag.myValue = 45;// set your value here. .... ----------------- View ----------------- alert('@ViewBag.myValue'); ----------------- Simple as that. HTH :)
