This error generally occurs if you're trying to access the first element of a List or a List control (such as ListBox or ListView) which is currently empty. If this could happen in your application (because of removals etc) then you can avoid the error by checking that the List's Count property is greater than zero before attempting to access the first element.

If the error you see occurs on that line which means the SelectedItems collection of either listviews is empty. You will need to test the count to make sure it's > 0 first before getting the selected item at index 0.
