Variable conversion

How to convert var into string............??????????????? e.g. var q = from a in db.GetTable () select a.k_name; how to convert var q into string ?????? plz help me????

Assuming that a.k_name is a string variable then your query will return a sequence of strings - not a single string. If you're expecting the sequence to contain at most one string then you can obtain it with: string name = q.FirstOrDefault(); if (name != null) { // do something with name } However if you want to obtain all the results then you can convert them to an array or list: if (q.Count() > 1) { string[] names = q.ToArray(); // do something with names }

Hi dude You can convert any value in to string using ToString() function in c# so check this out.
