I usually record important video clips. I wish to know whether source can detect recording is going on.

I think it would be better if you provide more information about what you are trying to do. What exactly do you mean by source? Are you referring to a Web Cam? How exactly do you record or capture the videos? Do you use a specific end-user application to record your videos? If you just want to record videos from different sources and you want an end-user application you can try the AMCAP video capture utility. You can get it from this page: http://amcap.en.softonic.com/download But if you want to develop a custom video capture device I think leadtools has a video capture control that might help you to record videos from different sources and detect their status.
