ViewState can not be used to transfer data from one page to another page instead use session or QueryString. QueryString is not safe because it is visible to user in the url better is use session variable like. //On Login page //after you login successfull Session[Uname]=SomUname; //on user home page string _uname=Session[Uname].ToString(); If you are using forms authentication then you can access user login name using. string _uname=HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name.ToString();
