Warning propmt on downloaded Excel

Question

Warning propmt on downloaded Excel: File format and extension do not match. The file could be corrupted or unsafe [duplicate]..How can i fix it?

Jishi, I don't personally believe that your file is actually .xls or .xlsx. Can you open the downloaded file in NotePad or NotePad++? If yes, then it is NOT proper MS-Excel file. It is just a csv file. So please use: header("Content-type: text/csv"); User will be able to open it in MS-Excel.

May be because your file is not really MS-Excel file at all. It is just a .csv, isn't it? So you can try following: header("Content-type: text/csv"); You will find a lot of debate on this subject here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7076042/what-mime-type-should-i-use-for-csv

i changed the headers as , header("Content-type: application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet"); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="Feature_Detail_Report.xlsx"');
