WCF or Web Services

Question

Hello everyone I am considering whether to implement my services (remote access services) using WCF or Web Services. My questions are - Key pros and cons compared with WCF and Web Services? - I need to have better security control (e.g. some specific services are open for some specific role or user) using WCF or Web Services is better? - Performance is not key issue. Convenient authentication (means ease to develop and maintain) and authorization is key issue. Any comments? thanks in advance George

Thanks Mahesh Sorry I may not made myself understood. My question is how to consume a remote WCF services as a web services (i.e. I will write a web services client to consume that service it is for lagacy reason to keep some client code and design). Any documents or samples to refer to? Thanks. regards George

Web Services is a part of WCF. Prior to WCF there are few options for remote communication and data trasnfer including Web services .NET remoting and distributed COM. There were few other technologies such as MSMQ and so on. WCF now provides a single API to do all this work. So Web services are a part of WCF.
