web api ? i need some opinions

Question

Hi FRIENDS

I and expecting some of you sharing your views on WEB API . My current up coming application on web api i.e to develop some restful application .

My query is , is there be a difference in model , controller , view part compared to internet application in MVC . ?

Are restful applications are light weighted ? Y they actually used .

Your oipinions are golddust to me . Please share your expert views .

hi As per me web api and mvc have very similar structure of Model and controller. there is no view is required in web api. web api just work link WFC or web service. to know more about what is difference between web api and mvc please refer http://www.dotnet-tricks.com/Tutorial/webapi/Y95G050413-Difference-between-ASP.NET-MVC-and-ASP.NET-Web-API.html one more think if you host your mvc application on static ip that it will also work over internet hope this will help you.

Hi What you mean by is there be a difference in model  controller  view part compared to internet application in MVC? And There is nothing called restfull application. But there is ReSTfull Services which can be used by the applications. Here its explained well that why ReSTfull services

ThaNk you for your awesome suggestions . I have small queries query i.e 1) can this is possible i.e wcf service consumption via entity framework in web-api . Here we are making wcf services Restfull Right . so these will be cool to consume .? The above mentioned scenario maybe we gonna use it . Any good article to learn web-api clean :) Regards

Ty so much for reply . Yes i mean to say the content in controller  model varies i.e webApi deal with some repository thing when i use that template . . So you mean we use webapi template to create services and use them under internet template in mvc or ??? Thank you
