web site deployment issue

Hello everyone I am deploying an ASP.Net web site and there are related configurations pages and binaries. There is also a related application pool related to this web site. My question is what is the graceful way to upgrade to an existing such type of web site? Drop the previous web site and install a new one? Any documetns or samples to make reference about how to write scripts to do such assignment automatically? thanks in advance George

Thanks. I need some script to perform some tasks automatically for example if the web site does not exist I will create a new web site or else using existing web site. And I also need to create an application pool. Any ideas about document or samples for writing such kinds of scripts? regards George

Simplest and easiest way: Take a backup of the current running website. Copy new ASPX pages DLLs and any other changed/updated files on top of the current site.
