using handler is very best option if there is only requirement of GET option else we need to provide one handler for each task API is support GET and POST which accumaltes the posted data in model which makes life easier compared with handlers

In general the only disadvantages with Restful APIs are related to latency in request processing times and bandwidth usage but that depends on your network and the actions you are performing. But other than that it's a awesome...!!!

When we're doing web development on our local machines, we usually don't experience any network latency. Web pages open nearly instantaneously, given your web api is not doing any long-running database or network operations. Because of that, the entire application runs pretty fast. Latency can be caused due to a lot of reasons. 1. If you have a large user base and you are making synchronous calls to an API which takes more time to process a request then it may happen the other requests that are in queue may take a lot of time to get processed. 2. If the API you are trying to call is hosted on the other end of the world then you may expect latency. Hope this helps...!!!!
