HI I AM DEVELOPING WEBSITE MONITORING PROJECT IN ASP.NET FOR FINDING THE SERVER STATUS UP OR DOWN.PLZ HELP ME HOW TO MONITOR WEBSERVER BY USING SINGLE URL AND SQUENCE URLS.KINDLY SUGGEST SOME TECHNICAL IDEA HOW TO PROCEED.I AM NEW TO THIS TOPIC.KINDLY HELP ME.ITS VERY URGENT.THANKS IN ADVANCE

HI You said that you have developed this application windows service.I too developed this application in windows service. The application is working fine but some times i am facing error like  UNDER LAYING CONNECTION WAS CLOSED:THE REMOTE SERVER CANNOT BE RESOLVED for both valid URLS and invalid URLs. Can you plz clarify why i am getting this error and resolution how to correct the error.Waiting for positive reply. very urgent PLZZZZ

Hi I built some web monitoring software to monitor a few of our sites at work basically it is a windows service which uses the WebRequest and WebResponse classes to get the a response from the webserver. I send the WebRequest to the home page of the site then depending on the HTTP Response Code from the server take some action e.g. 200 = Ok 404 = Not Found etc.. It is also a good idea to parse the page looking for a specific string as the server may respond with a 200 OK when really the page has thrown an exception which has been caught and is displayed in the browser.

Hi Ramesh Thanks for your reply.our aim is to monitor the web server with the help of Websites which is running in the Server.We need to find out the server Status whether the server is down or not if it is down means we need to send SMS alert to Admin to restart the server.
