Agree with other two guys. The only disadvantage I see is for beginners. It will take them more time to learn if. After you learn it, development and everything goes much faster. Cheers!

As Vijay has said, object oriented programs take longer to develop than the equivalent procedural program. However, the extra development time is usually more than compensated for by shorter maintenance times and extra robustness. There are some very small applications which aren't really suited to OO programming at all. There are no obvious 'objects' and they're really just a bunch of static functions. C# can cope with this type of application with its support for 'static classes' which don't provide any OO benefits apart from (perhaps) encapsulation. There's a very slight performance penalty with OO programs in that all instance functions need to be passed the 'this' pointer to the current object. Virtual functions, which are late-bound, also incur a performance penalty. In my view, none of these objections are serious and, if you've ever had to write a large procedural program using C, you'll know why OO programming became popular in the first place!

Hi Faisal, I don't think there is some big disadvantage of OOPS but only i can say - OO systems are harder to design, code and debug than a structured procedural language - if not properly designed / coded, it is way more difficult to maintain than a structured procedural language.
