What does it mean by Application restart?

I have my web application at server. Is it When first time any page of it is requested my application starts? Then what is application restart?

What is worker process? Is that all applications hosted on a single server are handled by a its single worker porcess? and what if the worker process fails? Are there more than one worker process? Is application restart related to worker process restart? Plz clear.. Thank You

when the web server is restart that is nothing but application restart means for asp.net iis is web server suppose when any condition this is restart that is caused the application restart to restart that iis follows these steps Open the IIS Manager (found under Administrative Tools) Right click on the name of your computer (mine says SERVER (local computer) Go to All Tasks -> Restart IIS
