hi all Can any one explain what is happened when i writed the url in address bar and press enter what is happened and how this process is execute? thanks.

A.L. Yeah and the TCP/IP stacks on all involved machines and locating the local ISP and rendering the text output onto browser and... Almost neverending story if you try to explain the whole thing without gaps. :) -- The more I know about computers the more I'm amazed how on earth emails find out their way.

Shayer009: what happened with the physical network interface the router and also with the DNS? The DNS is not always the same with the ISP. ;)

Yep a browser is basically a text parser on crack with network capability. Data isn't typically all sent in a single transmission. When the browser comes upon an image sound flash ect reference in the HTML/XML etc it will request this file from the URL that is given in the reference. Once the browser has everything the page is assembled according to spec and displayed. Pretty cool huh?

In general When Client sent a request via Browser 1. It sends the request to the local ISP (internet Service Provider) .. 2. Then the local ISP map the the URL to the corresponding IP Address. 3. When it founds the IP address it redirect the request to that IP. 4. IP address has coressponding fileserver to store the files or Pages. 5. It then generates the response and sends back to ISP and then to the client browser. This is the normal senario of Web Page browsing. in ASP we usually send the request to iIS server connected to lan or wan unless it has own PUBLIC IP. Hope that helps
