The points you have mentioned i will try to explain you in simple words as this points can also be discussed for hours IL code:- Dot net supports many languages but eac language gets converted into one and same language which is IL CTS:-it common type system even if in every language supported by dot net has different data types but it is get converted into same type after compiling. meas integer in vb.net and int in c# get converted into system.int32 GAC:-it is global assembly cache here all shared assembly resides you ca base class libraries in windows GAC folder and also when we use this a copy of assembly is not created in our project as it is shared assembly GC: It is garbage collector

IL: This is the intermidiete language code generated before any clr operation start. It say as Microsoft Intermidiate Language. Before any code execution start all code is converted to this IL that's why we are saying .Net is platform independent also. CLR: As you it .Net language runtime pronounce as Common Language Runtime which actually executes the code. CTS: It's type system for .Net supported languages. This is nothing but set of rules all specification about type is given in CTS only. GAC: This is the global assembly cache where all signed assemblies are lived for viewing global assemblies just open C:/>Windows/assembly all globally signed assemblies are available here. GC: GC is the one part of .Net framework which does memory management for our application ex. collecting unused objects from memory. This will work automatically if we don't destroyed any object in our application but after that object lifetime this GC will collect that object. You can manually also collect the unused object from memory by activating GC class.
