What is meaning of main(String[] args)

Hi In C# main function is defined as - static void Main(string[] args) Why (string[] args) is written as parameter of main function. Plzhelp me. Thanks.

The (string[] args) is used to work on with command line arguments.Means some times the program needs to pass the data program at that time it needs.we can also work if we donot have.But in java its not work if u remove the (string[] args)

Hi James If you want to use arguments list while calling your application from the command line than the C# language provides a string[] array called args that is populated with the command-line arguments from the Windows operating system. So for example you execute your application want to pass some argument to your application for further processing in the code you call you app like this from the command line: C:\ConsoleApplication1.exe a b c The value a b c will be stored in the args string array and can be accessed like this: for (int i = 0; i { string argument = args[i]; Console.Write(argument); // Write string } Please do not forget to mark Accepted Answer.
