Well WPF does have a Panel class but it's just the abstract base class of DockPanel StackPanel and WrapPanel. It's also the base class of the Canvas class and I'd say that was perhaps the nearest thing WPF has to the Panel control in Windows Forms: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.controls.canvas.aspx
