Javascript is a language. jQuery is a library of reusable functions created using javascript. Example when we create library related to mathematical function uing C# language  C# is a language. Why we should use jQuery instead of writing code using core javascript 1.Its lightweight compared to other libraries 2.It supports cross browser so need to wory about different browsers 3.Huge documentstion available for jQuery Pleae check this is correct answer if it helped.
