A CMS allows you to publish update and manage contents dynamically. Yes there are lot of free CMS are out there. See this post. http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Forums/Thread/123466/best-Asp-Net-cms.aspx If you do not have specific requirements then use one of them. Otherwise it will take you forever to build your own CMS.

now there are lot of open source cms out there. some are dot net nuke umbraco and lots. I have used dot net nuke and I kinda liked it. You can create modules and attach more functionalities as well. Regards Praneeth
