Events are a special kind of delegate where outside the class in which they're defined the only operations permitted on them are += and -= which add handlers to or remove handlers from the event's invocation list respectively. This ensures that subscribers to the event don't know anything about and can't interfere with other subscribers. Events also support custom accessors using the add and remove keywords though they are seldom used in practice.
