There are various forms of ' DROP ' statement which remove the appropriate entity from the current database or SQL Server instance. For example DROP DATABASE DROP PROCEDURE and DROP TABLE though there are many other variations. The ' DELETE' statement removes rows from a table or view. The ' TRUNCATE TABLE ' statement removes rows from a table but doesn't log the deleted rows. It is therefore similar to ' DELETE ' without a 'WHERE' clause but operates more quickly.
