What is used of System.Text.StringBuilder

Oues: Hello all of you now i am write a string based program but i am not understand What is used of System.Text.StringBuilder ? and please explain .....What the advantage of using System.Text.StringBuilder over System.String?

The StringBuilder class is particularly useful when: 1. You want to do a large number of string concatenations - StringBuilder.Append is much more efficient than the String.Concat method the String.Format method or the '+' operator for this sort of work. 2. You need to pass an empty string buffer to an unmanaged function for it to return some result. The Platform Invoke mechanism has special support for the use of a StringBuilder in these circumstances because for technical reasons a normal String cannot be used.

The StringBuilder class can be used when you want to modify a string without creating a new object.
