A View can be a thought of as a stored query accessible as a virtual table. It can be used for retrieving data as well as updating or deleting rows. Views in SQL SERVER provide a presist way to view data from one or more tables. They may also include aggregate fields(like COUNT, SUM). Views allow our users to query a single object which behaves like a table and contains the needed joins and fields we have specified. In this way, a simple query (SELECT * FROM MYVIEW) can produce more refiened result which can serve as a report and answer business question. Rows updated or deleted in the view are updated or deleted in the table the VIEW was created with. It should also be noted that as Data in the original table changes, so does the data in the view - as view are the way to look at parts of the original table. The result of using view are not permanently stored in database. The data access through a view is actually constructed using a standred T-SQL SELECT command and can come from one to may different base tables or even other view. Two main purpose of creating a view are 1. provide a scurity mechanism which restrict users to a creatain subset of data. means we ca create different schema on table and view and accroding to schema user can access view not a tbale if that user have not table schema if that user have only view schema 2. provide a mechnism for developers to cutomize how user can logically view data. Create a View: CREATE VIEW view_EMPLOYEE AS SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEE Retrieve data from view SELECT * FROM view_EMPLOYEE Hope It will be helpful.
