what programming language is used for video games

A lot of people recommend C++ language to develop ps1/ ps2/ pc games! is it not possible with C#?? ?????

Hi Some of the language may have lot of support for UI or driver specific. But all the language has the capability of games development. Its all about the logic. you can write games in C#. Now days some amazing web paged games by using the HTML5 and javascript. It was awesome!

I admit that I do not know much about this. I do however know someone that is a professional developer of games that I could ask if it was very important. I know that one of the partners would definitely use assembler if possible. Certainly Microsoft wants everyone to use .Net whenever possible. I assume that XBox has excellent support of .Net. There is so very much to learn that I think you can safely invest time in learning other things about XBox and Game programming. The C++ language might be good for programmers that already know C++ but I doubt that you need to learn it just for the XBox.

I Don't know if you can program for other console but XBOX. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_XNA For playstation there seem to be: http://www.playstation.com/pss/developer/ and http://www.mono-project.com/Mono:PlayStation3 So based on this perhaps you can try to google further. Seems to be alot. Youtube have a lot of good tutorials I think. You can also do a search there. Maybe C++ is your best choice for making really advanced games don´t know. But if you know C# the step should´nt be so long for C++.
