Hello Dinesh CsharpCorner (CsC) is really having some awesome collection of good articles and it is always an inspiration for techies who believes in knowledge sharing. For sure I don't believe in fake admiration and C#C too lacks in various areas where we need to polish. First the website should be leaner in terms of loading time and the contents should be smart. We should give more attention on Latest and most popular articles on the site. Second the more emphasis should be given on quality of article most of the time an article which can be best bet lacks the quality or written with very poor content design. That doesn't mean we should discourage novice writers but these can be published under the blog category instead of article. An article must/should give you a complete solution over a problem or else an overall introduction on a specific topic. And I do feel with such an awesome Alexa ranking the Bounce rate is too high. This is my feeling and I do believe CsC is ready to jump to next level. Thanks

Great feedback Kirtan. Yes while I was in INDIA I did notice the speed problem. Hence we have decided to create a lighter version of the site that will load much faster. We are also working on the mobile versions of the sites. Release dates are not announced yet but things are happening. Good to see you back on the forums. Hope everything is going well with you.

Hello old friend; where have you been? I was wondering where you are. There are many suggestions like what you suggest. I think that more important than searching the forums is searching the articles. I think that searching in general should be improved. We are promised to have many great things in the new version in a few months. As for response times for the site's web pages it is usually good for me in the USA; often it is quite good. The home page I think takes about 15 seconds but I don't notice much of a delay otherwise. The times certainly do vary though.

( 9/10) Article Categories : all major categories included (10/10) support to author : Good (9/10) Speed of the Site : 6/10 have improve this like ( StackOverflow.com ) it takes much time even i have 3 Mbps connection .and on mobile its hard to load . Article publish GUI : easy to publish that is good thing (8/10) Forums : good community support (7/10) SEO : need to improve good example will be (eggheadcafe.com) for SEO Suggested Features ! ------------------------ While typing subject line when asking question in forums it should show whats already we have in database ie if same like question asked before then no need to create question user will get hint if is there any thing already there what he is looking for ?

Guys! Let's take it easy. I think we have some good ideas in mind and some of these ideas should work. Again! there is a very fine line between points or no points system quantity vs quality prizes vs no prizes and list just goes on and on. Sometimes a few lines of code is more useful for me that helps me solve my problem than a book. So you can't really tell what is useful and what is not. Here are my suggestions. 1. Editors needs to separate articles and blogs. Any article that does not make sense can be moved to blogs. 2. We can filter out home page with quality articles because we can't really fit all articles on the home page. 3. Good articles can be awarded extra points by moderators and admins. 4. Articles with thumbs up get extra points.

@Dhananjay: I have been following your articles and those are one of the few(lack of time) I always make it a point to read because of the quality of material.....I could see both point of views....if a number of articles gets rejected then the author would get discouraged and stop writing on the other hand as a reader I also get so annoyed with some of the articles since it should not be an article rather it should be a blog.... I don't know how many editors are there in c-sharpcorner but looking at the number of articles if the editor is not a full time employee of c-sharpcorner then it becomes extremely difficult to handle the volume. I saw your discussion (sad and heart broken)...and I see a point in Dinesh's argument that since it was your article (great compliment) they didnt have to go through it fully (Duh...You are a Mindcracker as well as a Microsoft MVP). Dont lose heart buddy....We need authors like you :-) @Admins: I think most of the problems comes up due to points system based on participation rather than points system based on user grading .....If an article starts out at 0 points and point increases based on the number of likes or favorites then it would make more sense. This could be the norm in the forums too (only answers and comments which gets points gets considered). This way only qualitative articles gets the recognition or prizes. Again this is not to offend anyone this is just my opinion and I apologize if I have offended anyone.

We should not discourage any one and we will have to respect time of authors. Only point I am trying to put is authors should not be hurry in posting rather they should revise their own writing . It is expected that a novice author would not do that  so we are here for them . But what about athors crossed 50 number of articles ? They could do... Purpose of this discussion is to benfit everyone from author to reader and so to community.

I have been struggling with the same issues Dhananjay. The issue of quality versus quantity is an important issue. I don't want to emphasize the articles that are small or that are easy to write for some other reason. The emphasis should be on the articles that are clear and concise and that take time to write. So in other words there are many articles that have provided opportunity for many people and that is good but to the extent that they inhibit recognition of articles that take more time to write then the ones that take time to write are losing. It is extremely difficult to be fair. There are many ways to do it and nothing is perfect. There are many books published with a lot of content that is added just to make the book bigger. I have not had the time to read any of Maya Angelo's books but I want to. She wrote a poem for President Clinton's (former president of USA) inauguration speech. The thing that impressed me is that she said that if she had had more time then the poem would be half as long. The point is that size is not the only way to judge the value of something written. Often something is better when time is spent making something more clear and concise. I don't know if potential authors are discouraged from writing because there is relatively little reward for writing an article that takes time to write but it is possible. I certainly have been. I won't get into the details of what has changed my mind but I will write some more articles when I have the time.

I got the gist  probably my vision is not matching with vision of core team of this site .... even I did not have idea when I wrote my 1st article and at any point of time I did not try to discourage authors less than 10 articles. but I am talking and I am not excited seeing articles from authors who has written more than 50 and someof them has crossed even 200. and I am requsting them for the quality rather than flood of numbers . They are now mataure enough to undersatnd that. any way  I was with odd perception and may be my way of looking at things does not matter in order to be BIGGEST COMMUNITY SITE. I was just aspired to make C Sharp Corner not only biggest community site but the BEST SITE... and I am sorry for being candid but since I started from this site [Note : Without any aspiration of any Prize ] and found my self emotinally attached so told what I felt any way Happy Coding

Guys! Thanks for all the feedback. We are working on a feature called Show on Home Page and only quality articles will be shown on the home page. Also in next release a Featured Article will get more points than a non-featured article. But that said we are building a community. We are not a publishing company :). We want to give everybody a chance. I remember when first time I wrote my article I had no idea. I think we will get there.

@Manas -- Good you posted your comments we should def see on the blogs vs articles section. @Mahesh -- Thanks for posting the reply... it should be the very good enhancements.. @Dhananjay -- Your emotions are very valid to maintain the quality of the site we need to def do these steps... Better option as you always say keep posting articles from Level 100 to 400... I think the editors should take steps to maintain the level and post the contents in selected sections like article or blogs... Articles can be of any range from 3000 lines of content with less quality and 500 lines of content with great quality. We can differentiate based on the content. As Mindcracker always have the option of having a section Featured article we should make use of it. As every one said major of the them put contents for prizes yes i accept that after seeing many tiny articles with very basic cotent of the technology. To fo forward yet we can put points based on the content but its always going to have different section like not all the 5 moderator (as you specified) know all the technology and the programming language to comment or rate an article. Instead we should have an option like only quality article will be moving to the Featured article section and those articles should have a minimum of this much content(like some new things in lines of content or explanation or code or latest technology) and only those featured articles are considered for the prize this way we can also try to get a very good article which are featured one's. This is just my suggestion as many new members of our site are very enthusiastic and eager to contribute we need to direct them to the right path with a positive approach Instead of being very hard to them. Hope i am not wrong :) Also i would like to add we should not or (my opinion) concentrate only on the latest technology for authors to contribute since on existing technology as well we have many things to be convered... Example i write on SSIS which is bit old and less users attracted but i get many mails on how to solve this issue or solve a problem... i was very excitied to see that my article is helping people even though the technology is bit old and less attractive.

@Manas and me keep talking about quality ..... and thanks manas you brought it up ..... Couple of thinngs I am sorry but I can see authors are very excited about the prizes  so they are running behind the numbers and that is obvious. Although as a site  we need to make algorithm to choose Prize winner more on quality than quanity. Quality must have some voice to say over quanity. Now question is How to determine quality  ? My answer is There should be body of 5 people [May be Editor or not] to give marks against each article on their quality. Mahesh Sir can choose those 5 people. Condition should be those 5 people would not be eligible for any prizes. At end of the month Number of points[On quality basis] should mulitpy to Number of articles to determine the winner. Explanation : We can give marks out of 10 to a article in term of quality. So  if author is posting 20 articles in month and as average he is getting 6 marks on each article then total marks is 120 Another author is posting 50 articles in month and as average he is getting 2 marks on each article then total marks is 100. so winner would be person with 20 articles not with 50 articles. In this way we can motivate authors to put quality articles if they want to win LAPTOP :) Now coming to next point  on Home page we should have listed articles on 1. SilverLight 5/4 2. Azure 3. Design patterns 4. Denali 5. Windows 7 Phone Point is on latset technology. But I see articles flodeed with very low in quality. To all Authors  if you are aspired to be Microsoft MVP please check your quality. Do not go behind numbers. Note : When I strated writing and I go back and see my first 100 articles all are atleast 15 pages long covering the topics ASP.Net MVC with SilverLight and Active Directory . We need to understand difference between blog Post and Articles. One more point is  write article like Problem : a prob Solution : a complete solution Sadly I am concluding saying  We know we have plenty of scope to improve and we need to do it faster and on serious node else people [Community] will sterotype with other sites [I wont take any site name ]. Our article quality should be in par with SilverLight.net  ASP.net  MSDN Blogs etc We know we want to motivate authors but there are other way to motivate them rather than on question of quality. Editorial team can edit article with the new authors to make them perfect and make quality article than just publishing it. I am sorry for this emotional reply but since I am attached to c-sharp so I am concern and to be very candid  I am concern about my reputation also as an author. I have heard 10 comments in last 3 month when people commented me hey you have 300 arrticle on c-sahrp ? even if you write ABCD they will publish  .. so take my huble request Editorial team and make c-sharp as brand of quality not of only quanity. Time is from today and now .. do it before it is too late and C-Sharp lost few of quality authors .. As an editor that reads nearly all articles (I read all of the ones that people are likley to suggest that should be a blog) I think it is important to have the discussion of what an article should be. I understand and appreciate that this web site provides more opportunity than most other web sites. That is a good thing so I understand that the answers are not easy for the question of how to resolve conflicting goals. We want to also maintain a high level of quality since if the quality is diluted then there will be a decrease in users and a corresponding decrease in opportunity. A related topic for discussion is if some people are discouraged from writing (submitting?) articles that take time to write when there is an abundance of articles submitted that can be completed very quickly. I hope that is not a problem but if it is then it should be discussed.

Hi Dinesh.. Good to see you that you are active to listen to people who are part of c-sharpcorner community. I do agree with @Manas some time the article looks like a blog post. Even i some times get confused where to post my content in articles or in blog and YES article should be a complete solution or descriptive introduction to any topic. Here on C#Corner people always try to post their things in article section as articles have more points that blog. My P.S. is if the article and blogs both have same point for the author then i think the differentiation for posting will be easy. More over you can share the guidelines about what can be posted in BLOG and what content should be the article. Hope this can help in going forward quality of articles and we would like to see these kinda improvements in next release of C#Corner. Thanks.
