Where can I write and implement my PHP codes?

Hi I want to know about the software and platforms which I need for writing and implementing my PHP codes so please suggest me the best software for doing this. Thank you.

The easiest way to run a PHP Program for the first time is using the software bundle named XAMPP. XAMPP works well in all the major platforms: Windows Mac and Linux. You don't have to install Apache PHP and MySQL separately.XAMPP does that for you with just a few clicks.Before you install XAMPP you may have to uninstall existing Apache and MySQL installations especially if they were installed as a service.

HiThank you for your answer I installed XAMPP but I have problem with using it and someone suggest using dev PHP for writing my codes please explain more about XAMPP and dev PHP. Thank you.
