The 'newobj ' instruction allocates memory for a new instance of a class and calls the instance constructor specified by . Memory is always allocated on the managed heap and all bytes are set to zero. A reference to the new object is then pushed onto the stack so that (in your example) it can be loaded into the local variable 'x'. Notice that this instruction is only used for classes - it's not used for structs or enums.
