Why interface is required?

Hello all What is the use of using interface in programming. For me it looks like overhead of adding additional code .Without interface also we can achieve the same functionality. Pls share your thought on this Thanks Gagan

You must learn the inheritance before you learn the interface. Attachment is explaining interface.

An interface is like a contract. The interface defines what your class should support/implement. If two assemblies share an interface then the actually used classes can be entirely different. Using that interface you can still communicate with both classes without having to include them (known as loose coupling).
