Those aren't date formats as such - they're just ways of constructing a DateTime instance. How the date is subsequently formatted for display depends on the current culture or whether you specify a standard or custom DateTime format string etc. Notice that if you only use YY for the year then that's what you'll get; so if you use '11' then you'll get a DateTime with a year of 11 not 2011.

DateTime format can be used to display DateTime in a particular format. Depending on clients of different locations we can change the format. For eg: India and US customer will be having different date time formats. In the case of desktop applications the default format shows according to the Regional Settings of the computer.
