why still console applications r needed

Question

why still console applications r needed .net has improved very much asp.net is there and windows applications r there

still what is the necessity to use the console applications

any one tell me( i got this in an interview)

well this is simple one to explain its true that windows Form and Asp.net applications are improved but think of below scenarios 1 .think of scenario where there is no need of GUI like Windows..Service .or a small program to control server that needs to be just tow or three cased (on/off) so if we program console application we can save that much amount of memory by not loading the GUI. 2. think that Large production Firm is using Winform Application and it happened that some Machines facing difficulty to start the program in GUI mode so at that time if we have console program programmed too with that GUI program it will work temperaryly till the GUI programs problem is solved :) 3. Another Advantage : you have seen that some antivirus programs Runs before the Operating system Loads ..so there is no scope that you can Run GUI at that time Console Program will do the job :) if it helps you please check  Do you like this answer  :)
