Why today their is a Importance for MVC ?

• Many times whenever candidates goes for a Interview then interviewer asking about MVC

•   whenever i got new email then in JD i found MVC experience added advantage

my question is that why their is Importance for MVC ,is their is for only Interview purpose or actually companies really Implemented it ?
