Question

I have 3 years experience in .net now i want to change .net to windows azure? how will be the future ? is it right decision?

Hi Sandeep, Azure/ Cloud computing is the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. Owing to my 12 years of offshore/onsite experience, I would say ' Microsoft Cloud Computing' or Azure has a great scope and in highly in demand. I assume by 2020 almost everything would be at Cloud, so catch the bus at right time. This is a great career option at this time, I would suggest you to take a look over here - https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/ https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/cloud-platform/ After that, please register yourself with outlook and Hotmail account and do some practical stuff at Azure Portal. You would get USD 200 or 250 credit to play around. It would certainly going to enhance length and breadth of your knowledge around Modern Cloud Computing. What do you mean by change, Just continue with .NET and add Azure along with it.

Windows Azure is good option. You may need to check http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/overview/what-is-azure/ and their pricing at http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/calculator/ . If you only host small website, then traditional hosting also is good option. You can use asphostportal.com for affordable .net hosting

There's no doubt that 'the cloud' is the future and MS are putting everything into Azure. So, changing horses at this stage of your career can't be a bad decision IMO. Incidentally, MS are changing the name from Windows Azure to Microsoft Azure to emphasize its cross-platform credentials. What exactly in Windows Azure? Windows Azure is a big area but very promising. It will also require you to know C#, database, and other tools like Visual Studio 2013, Web services etc.
