windows service search a directory path

Question

I need to write a C# 2010 windows service that will check for new files in a specified directory path . Can you tell me how to accomplish this goal?

right click your project go to propertiesm you find setting tab therem where you can create a Key(Check the image attached) THen Properties.Settings.Default.LastIndex by this you can set and get Setting value. Check this is correct answer if it helped.

You saidstore the date somewhere example in settings. What settings are you referring to? Are you referring to the application.settings that a windows form has? I am working with a console application. Would that have settings? How would you store the values for a console application and use the stored values?

Use Directory.GetFiles().Function and Filter them with a date. For instace First Time take the file with MAX DAte and store the date somewhere example in settings In second  third time.....Again do the same  Get the File with MAX DATE if this date is greater than date stored in settings means its a new file and change the date in the settings with this date.
