wpf connect to mysql database - C#

Question

Please advise me. I am trying to develop Windows Application in WPF with Mysql server database. Which approach I have to use to create connection establish on the Mysql database? 1) Entity Framework OR 2) ADO.NET OR 3) Other one One of other matter is the client demanding that when installing .exe file on client machine then should have to automatically install mysql server database (ie xampp or other ect..) also. How can I do this?

Deployment whichever way you look at it is a complicated business. Unfortunately I don't know much about xampp deployments. From Microsoft perspective I was referring to an installer package which will do the installment. But I don't know the details sorry! You may have to look into .msi installer which can be seamlessly integrated inside the installer package. https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/installer/

Got it. You will need into installer package. Previously these were slightly easier now very complicated. You may also look into .msi file if available for MySQL. With respect to technology you can use whatever you are comfortable with MySQL supports EF. If you have already used EF you can use that. https://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector-net/en/connector-net-entityframework60.html I am not seeing any problem as such. You will need to go by your comfort level and quicker execution of project.

Perfect so from whatever you are saying assuming there are 100 clients will you have 100 db installations or just 1? Please answer above question and we will take it from there. If you choose 1 as an answer please re-read your question and you will understand what I am trying to say. This is slightly confusing to me. Why would you need a mysql server database on the client machine? You will be storing information centrally isn't it? Please elaborate on the requirement.

Just one MySql database inside admin computer only ! And All client machines are access that MySql by admin's pc IP address. Sorry sir. I mean the 'client' is customer.

Hello Nitin Thanks for replay me sir. Actually client wants to use open-source relational database like MySQL. The Admin need to install mysql on his computer and then network connected other client system are needed to access the mysql database through the IP connection string using like @Data Source=10.0.0.101 So I am storing information. Please advise me.
