Configuration Web.config

Question

I am newbie to use web.config files in Asp.Net. since i started working on web.config file, little bit confuse about what are the section in web.config file? More explanatory,'I want to know What does section means, what they do by default, how can we use them?'. If any one knows please help me to know it.
