How to handle a project taht we have not yet experienced?

Hello sir! I want to ask about how to handle a software project that we have not yet experienced? Because I have take a software project before a client-server software and I have not really understand about it. Finally I can't finish it ontime and the application not working as expected when I test it to my client the application has a lot of bugs and few of them I have not yet found the solution. I have same problem with some of my software before and that makes me frustrated. Would you like to give me some advice about how to deal with a software project that we have not yet learn about it?

I am not sure if this is going to help you but let me put something down whatever is coming to my mind: There is ALWAYS a first time. Nobody is born anything. We learn and aquire skills. In the process we fail we suffer minor injuries. Injuries get healed. And we become experieanced. Be EXTREMELY compassionate with customer. The WORST kind of customer is ACTUALLY your BEST friend. The BEST customer is not going to very helpful. Negative testing a software is a must. All we developer is just being TOO positive. We probably don't understand the true meaning of Be positive or apply it at a wrong place. PERCEVERANCE is a must. Do not expect that things will go as planned. In fact they rarely do. So you should plan for failure too. (In this context i like this one - Fail to plan is to plan to fail. How nice!) Enough said I guess.
