how to use show indexing if we have more than 5 record

how to use show indexing if we have more than 5 record in database.. if we dont have 5 record then dont display the paging link

m not using grid view..m using html tables for showing registered users.....and if registered users more than 5 then i want show paging.....

The functionality you required is by default if you are using pagination in Gridview or listview etc. What is your exact requirement? which control you are using?
