Sir I want to add byte variables like byte a=100; byte b=200; byte c=a+b; So i need that answer must be 300 in C

You can cast byte to a int before sum: byte a=100; byte b=200; int c=(int) a + (int) b; Federico

BTW - just to be complete: byte c = a+b wont compile because a+b returns am int - and there is no implicit conversion from int to byte. Use byte c = (byte)(a+b) instead. c will equal 44 in this case.

c will equal 44 (or throw an error if you have overflow checking on). A byte can only store up to 256 - you can't get 300 out of it. Bill F
